Eastern Market
Bustling with as many as 45,000 visitors in a day, the Saturday Market is one of America’s most original destinations for fresh produce, prepared food by local vendors, baked goods, flowers and local art. This market is at the core of our mission to nourish a healthier, wealthier, and happier Detroit. Don’t fact check me, but I once heard it was the largest open air market n the country.

The adaptive reuse of the church, designed by Peterson Rich Office (PRO), includes two exhibition spaces, a public library curated by Asmaa Walton of Black Art Library, a performing arts theater, and workshop space for the community.
